Cornell’s Charles August Lueder became West Virginia University’s 14th football coach in 1908 and his four-year tenure was the longest of any WVU coach until Mont McIntire matched it nine years later. His best season was his last in 1911 when West Virginia won six of nine games including wins over rivals Washington & Jefferson and West Virginia Wesleyan.
