Summary
Fielding Yost protégé William P. Edmunds, a tackle on Michigan’s 1908, 1909 and 1910 football teams, was appointed West Virginia’s 15th head football coach in 1912. After receiving his medical degree from the Ann Arbor school in 1912, the Middlesex Township, Pennsylvania, native returned close to his Western Pennsylvania roots to lead West Virginia to a 6-3 record with victories over Westminster, Geneva, Ohio, Alleghany, Marietta and Waynesburg.
